BEC rapid tooling service clearly delivers

Our UK based rapid tooling service enabled Hambly Industries to launch their new GaugePilot in time for an important event, Goodwood Revival Festival, the highlight of the season for classic car enthusiasts.
Hambly Industries’ new in-vehicle information system is mainly intended for use in classic cars, and the Goodwood Revival was the ideal event for launching the new product, but this led to a demanding timescale. Fortunately we were able to help them meet their deadline.
Hambly Industries called on our expertise to ensure Gaugepilot had its new optically clear Acrylic screen available in time for the launch. Our design knowhow, project planning expertise and high quality rapid tooling of the injection mould tool meant Hambly had their project available for launch three days ahead of schedule.
Gaugepilot’s screen acts like an optical lens and, as prototyping to this level of quality finish just isn’t possible, there was no room for error in manufacture the tooling. At BEC we house our own design, tooling and manufacturing services all under one roof, equipping us with the skills and facilities to offer a UK based rapid injection mould tooling service. Once the tooling is complete we can move from CNC to press in minutes not days, dramatically reducing lead times for our customers, as the Gaugepilot project proved.
Nigel Cousins of Hambly Industries commented “We are absolutely thrilled with how the tooling and the plastic injection moulded screen has turned out – on the first trial I came in to check the fit and then 4 days later I was back to pick up the parts I desperately needed for the launch at the show. BEC were excellent, they kept me informed of progress and even exceeded my expectations on the timing.”
